From Zadar, we will embark on a journey to Preko on the island of Ugljan. Our first stop will be the islet of Galevac, home to a historic Franciscan monastery. While we can’t dock directly at Galevac, we’ll anchor in Preko, where a short walk will lead you to a rowing boat that will take you to the monastery.
After our visit to Preko, we’ll cruise along the breathtaking Ugljan Coast, discovering beautiful bays ideal for swimming and snorkelling. We’ll pause for a refreshing swim at Uvala Frnaza, known for its crystal-clear turquoise waters, before continuing to Ugljan, a delightful tourist and fishing market rich in history.
Here, you can explore fascinating monuments from early antiquity, including Villa Rustica, a late antique mausoleum, the remains of an early Christian basilica, and a monumental farm building from the 1st century used for oil processing in Muline Bay, all showcasing the area's historical significance.
On the cape that borders the bay of Mostir, you will find an old Franciscan monastery dating back to 1430, featuring a single-aisled Gothic church from 1447. Ugljan also boasts beautiful sandy and rocky beaches, along with a diverse range of local taverns and restaurants where you can enjoy refreshments or a meal.
After exploring Ugljan, we’ll make our way back to Zadar, concluding our trip with a scenic view of the old town, the promenade, and the sea organ. The tour will wrap up at 18h (6 PM).
